Szklarska Poręba is a town located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in the Karkonosze County. It is situated in a stunning location in the valley of the Kamienna River and its tributaries.
Szklarska Poręba is one of the largest climatic resorts in Lower Silesia. The climate of the town is comparable to that of alpine villages located at an altitude of 2000 m above sea level.
The town is also known for hosting the "Rowerowy Bieg Piastów" (Piast Bike Race) in the region. We’re sure every cycling enthusiast has heard of it.
The area around Szklarska Poręba offers many interesting trails for both beginners and advanced riders. In the post below, we’ll highlight trails that are perfect for trips with friends or family.

TRAIL – LARGE SZKLARSKA LOOP, AKA RADIO TRÓJKA TRAIL
Why is it called the large Szklarska loop?
Because the trail goes around the town, allowing you to explore many interesting sites along the way. The trail is intended for more advanced riders, as it requires good equipment and skills. The trail is 20 kilometers long. The trail starts at the Radio Trójka Square, then passes through the center near the Old Walloon Hut. You can also admire the Szklarka Waterfall before heading towards Szklarska Poręba Dolna and Zakręt Śmierci (Death Bend). From there, continue to the lower station of the Szrenica lift, and then back to the starting point – Radio Trójka Square.
TRAIL – KONGENERATION
This trail takes you through the beautiful Polish Izera Mountains and the equally stunning Czech Karkonosze. The trail is 50 kilometers long. It is one of the more difficult trails due to steep climbs and gravel surfaces. This trail connects to the Czech bike trail No. 2. In the Czech Republic, you can explore the Harrachov area. The trail starts in the center of Szklarska Poręba, then heads to the "Południowy stok" (Southern Slope) Resort, where you can see the Spring of Health and Love. After that, the trail leads towards the Izera Mountains, through the quartz mine, and on the road to Jakuszyce. After crossing the Polish border*, head towards Harrachov and finish the trail in Szklarska Poręba.
*Since the trail is on the border of two countries, we recommend bringing an ID or passport.
TRAIL – THE CONNECTOR OF THREE DISTRICTS
This is one of the easier trails, 9 kilometers long, mostly located in Szklarska Poręba Dolna. The trail starts in the town center at the Tourist Information. Head towards Szklarska Poręba Dolna, passing by the Church of the Body of Christ, and then passing KRUS. Return via Armii Krajowej Street.
